Final destination : GOA

Any industrial tour in IT-BHU inevitably ends in GOA. Thats an understatement actually. We plan the tour around this theme. Otherwise, certainly there are more manufacturing plants in some parts of India than the MUM-PUNE belt.
So our party began for the dreamland, leaving the 3 day PUNE bullshit behind. I LOVE GOA. But not everything there. For me it essentialy means beaches, beaches n CALINGUTE (the monster stretches 8 km, i think).
However, things began on a disappointing note. Our dormatory was 20 km away from calingute.
That sucked. I mean, how bad u feel when things are like "so near, yet so far". Anyway, 1st we had to complete the formality of visiting of NIO which is the mecca of all college students. Actually it has to be inserted in the itinerary, otherwise what does a mech engg. has to do with oceanography? We somehow completed the movie being shown there, half dazy n half in dreamland. It FINALLY ended and we gave sigh of relief and ran out from it.
The next 3 days were full of wonderful moments. Loads of adventures and fun. It was gr8 n nostalgic too!!!

INFY @ pune

The only bright spot on an otherwise dull trip to pune was the visit to INFOSYS. Located in a lush green campus on the outskirts of the city, its architecture gives pleasure to the eyes.
We began early in the morning and were there by 9. After a brief security checkup, were allowed inside for an exclusive programme designed for college students to give them some insight on how softaware projects actually take shape.
It was indeed a privilege to get the feel of things from inside of India's highly acclaimed software giant. We learnt a lot from that visit (arguably the only thing worthwhile in the whole trip). After the brainstorming session and the lunch (free of cost, that was the best part), we were taken on a joyride of the whole campus. It felt great. They have everything- a gymnasium, swimming pool and a golf course too...!!! I instantly started dreaming for working in the company. Alas the leisure time is only half an hour per day...Nonetheless, its worth it. Also there is plenty of material to keep your eyes warm n healthy. So guys, plz dont underestimate the software job. lol

Edu Trip... contd.

After much thinking, i finally decided to stay at mausiji's home only. However that decision backfired immediately as sehwag struck 200 en route to his 293 and i couldnt become a witness to that imperious inning. Wasnt able to say "I WAS THERE". However Kaushal was, as were some other fortunate souls. Finally the time came to bid mumbai goodbye and to leave for Pune.

We left for pune via khandala on the 2nd. It was obviously a waste to go khandala or lonavala in that period of time as hardly anything to see there. However. to my utter surprise we found something worthwhile. The TIGER HILL was worth it. It seemed as if we were on top of the world. "Ab tak chappan jaa chuke hai, aap 57th na ho jana" or smthing like that was written on a board. It was scary indeed. After spending some anxious moments there we started for pune.

We finally reached there. Our place was nearby a highway and a cinemahall. I always knew that visiting pune is a waste except for the trip to INFOSYS. There was nothing to see in pune at all.

Next day began in a haste and we were duly ready in time for the trip to INFY (lovely name, isnt it?) So we reached there early in the morning welcomed quite generously. It was for the first time that i had actually visited a real company (a lie actually since i have roamed through maruti when in class 7th.) INFY was, ya it was, substance. Enjoyed that visit, really. More on that later.

After that it was only a matter of killing time. GOA... HERE WE COME...

educational trip (or was it...?)

After much hype n hoopla, our tour finally commenced on the 29th of november. The train was from mughalsarai station so we had to go there by a bus (imagine 65 guys with their luggages cramping for space). Thank god, there are no girls in the branch. HOD sir came all by himself assisted by none other than... guess who!!! The bus started and with it our trip began.
We reached mgs on scheduled time but our train (which was coming from patna, my hometown) was way behind its schedule. It was embarrassingly late. Wait was so painful and killing time was getting harder with every minute passing. Finally, it arrived and we took our respective births. The train started and the thrill of visiting Goa engulfed us all (mum n pune r just commas).
Various incidents, good n bad, small n large are there to talk about but after all that we finally reached mum c.s.t. albeit after another 2 hour painful wait at thane. We reached our hotel (or was that a dormitory) at 11 by a bus, hungry n badly fatigued. Many were looking distressed although i had eaten 3 vada-paos since it was obvious that we are not gonna get dinner at that hour of the night easily.
After some skirmishes and confusion everyone was allowed their respective beds on those beds which have 2 beds up n down (had seen them in movies only, till then). Our hotel was right behind TAJ, near Gateway of India in kolaba. I was feeling nostalgic. There we were, right behind the place were 26/11 took place, just after 1 year of the attacks. Saw the dreaded leopold cafe too.
Our 1st visit was 2 days away.
On the 2nd of december we reached panvel by local n bus. It was a small scale plant which was in the business of purifying grease. It is owned by dad of one of our classmates. The visit was a plesasnt one and we got to learn a lot but the vada-pav didnt leave me there too.
From there we returned back to hotel thinking about where to roam on the next off day. May be we should check out the ongoing test in Brabourne. Lets see...

Chetan Bhagat - genius indeed...

After waiting eagerly for months, i was finally able to put my hands on it. And finished it in 2 days straight. But the wait was worth it. Folks, i m talking about the new novel of C.B. "2 states : the story of my marriage" is one of the most entertaining and insightful novels of our times. It is so wonderful that i had to write a post dedicated to it which i m doing after a gap of 5 months (i have been quite busy in other things these days, of course)lol.
Around 1 year ago, C.B. had come to I.T.BHU . He had announced then that his next one is going to be an out an out love story. And how truly has he kept his promise. This is probably the mother of all indian love stories and one with which any normal indian boy or girl can identify with. Inter-caste, inter state or inter religion marriages in india always generate lots of hue n cry. GOD KNOWS WHY.But this story or should it be called an autobiography has given a very simple and somewhat ingenious solution to the perennial problem of lacks of indian adults. The solution, in brief is LOVE. Yes, LOVE and only LOVE is the way to win your soul mate (and your and his/her parents).
After a great start(5 point someone), i think he lost his way somewhat. One night @ call centre was ok ok stuff. But reading 3 mistakes was a mistake in life. Nonetheless, C.B. is back to his best. His terrific one liners, comments on indian hypocrite culture, mocking everything which comes in his way and seeing things from a certain angle from which we never saw them are extraordinary stuff.
Take a bow CHETAN. You have proved that IITians are the best in whatever they do...

Why BJP lost general elections 2009?

Hi, to all the visitors.
The writer is not a prolific political analyst or an intellectual of any magnitude. M just a below average engineering student of an above average college, lost in the hardcore world of mechanical engg.
The soul , however, aspires for something else.
The main purpose of this blog is to give simple solutions, comments, reasons and analysis of political, historical and current events of some importance in a humorous way (beware of the humour though n try to find even if there is none) .
Now coming to the point, why bjp lost the plot and that too so badly?
Its so simple yar, they were trying to win the hearts of 55 crore under 25 somethings, projecting a 80 year old as their prime ministerial candidate...lol
now that requires some thinking...
and see what the congress did; it projected a young turk rather a talisman as their future p.m. candidate and the results are for all to see.
Dont take the current scenario seriously, sardar manmohna is not gonna remain p.m forever.
he is just a timepass for Soniyaji and company to make way for rahul baba.
All in all, the current infighting going on in bjp is going to make it a better political party only.
They have started understanding the virtues of development oriented politics,
and that Hindutva wont take them forward. More chances are that they will be dragged back.
Retards like Varun baba have already done enough damage. Remove them. And make the policies development oriented. For all the communities.
Only then, the middle class is gonna vote you...
listening? ADVANIJI...
