Once upon a time, there was a concept born called 'Social Networking'. It was pioneered in India by a website called ORKUT. Obviously the 1st users were engg. college guys (due to the free internet).
It became a rage and terms like "scrap" became household words. I remember myself involved in many scrap races :P .I have sent at least 1000 friend requests to unknown people myself. The site actually banned me for sometime to do the same.
Meanwhile, our inst. and many others around India banned ORKUT and with the advent of FACEBOOK its popularity started reducing. Actually it didnt improve on itself and became stagnant. FB has innovated regularly and kept users busy with newer absurdities.
So the decline is complete, users have switched on, people havnt accessed their accounts since eternity and it has reached its NADIR(can go lower).
Pay your last respects and obituary to one of our most beloved websites, for which, once we used to make lines to access our accounts.
BYE BYE ORKUT... memories with you were really sweet...

i still remember being forced to increase the count of scraps of some users ... :P
ReplyDeletei make sure i login to orkut atleast once in two-three days, orkut is special, got many old frnds through that, very special, saying bye wd hurt, so please check it alteast some times :)
